Polaris Consulting Ltd has today been announced as one of the winners of the Defence Growth Partnership Innovation Challenge.
Polaris Consulting, part of the TP Group, are seeking to further develop their Maritime Autonomous Navigation System. Our work now seeks to enhance and extend the system for surface vessels, as well as moving it out of maritime and into other domains (land, air, subsurface).
We currently seek 2 programmers to join our small and expanding Technology & Innovation (T&I) team, primarily to deliver this project but also to work on other similar software focussed projects.
Polaris has recently been acquired by the TP Group plc, which will extend our reach in the defence and security markets and broaden our delivery capabilities to our clients.
Carl Dalton and David Bangert, both directors within Polaris, will remain with the business and continue to lead activities and operations from our offices in Fareham & Bristol.

Andy has significant experience providing technical support on UK and overseas projects, mainly in the defence sector. In defence, he has implemented his cost analysis and risk management knowledge across a variety of domains and on several high profile projects. Andy is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, which recognises his industry experience and leadership.
His interest in defence started with MoD sponsorship in 1998 to study engineering at Bristol University. He later undertook a postgraduate law conversion course, which enables him to understand wider issues on complex programmes and assists him with communicating, and therefore resolving, analytical problems. Andy is one of only a few International Cost Estimating & Analysis Association’s Certified Cost Estimators in the UK.
Polaris have successfully completed their first day of a planned series of Sea Trials for their Autonomous Surface Vessel route planning system. Polaris’ project (sponsored by the Defence Security Accelerator) is supported by ASV Ltd, who are providing the ASV (one of their C-Worker 5 fleet) and operations support for the trials.
