Junior C++ Developers - Fareham


Polaris Consulting, part of TP Group, are currently seeking 2 junior staff with C++ development experience to join our small but growing Technology & Innovation team.  We are looking for flexible and innovative thinkers who can help influence our technical direction.


This role provides an opportunity to work on a number of software projects, but with a focus on our optimised autonomous navigation system, AntsOnDeck (http://www.antsondeck.com/). This is currently a system that supports autonomous boats but we are working to extend it to support any autonomous system (drones, sub-surface and on-road/off-road systems).  We have other active projects in the fields of Machine Learning, Optimisation, Computer Vision, and Big Data & Analytics, and we are always seeking interesting new ideas to invest in.

Systems Engineer - Defence Analyst - Bristol


Polaris seeks an experienced Defence Analyst to undertake systems engineering and operational analysis activities in key Ministry of Defence (MOD) programmes. You will have a background preferably in Space Systems and C4ISTAR engineering, with a sound understanding of scientific and mathematical techniques and the proven ability to develop technical solutions to business problems. Candidates will require expertise in some or all of the following skills:



  • Systems Engineering Lifecycle

  • European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) Standards

  • Defining, analysing and documenting requirements (incl. use of DOORS)

  • Analytical and modelling experience

  • Tools and techniques to develop concepts and architectural solutions including MODAF

  • Cost-benefit analysis

  • Technology and capability roadmapping

  • Support and advice to MOD decision makers

  • Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation


Desirable candidates will have at least 5 years of relevant expertise to support its growing operations in the South West, with successful candidates based in the Company’s Bristol office.

Cost and Project Controls Consultants - Fareham & Bristol


Due to continued expansion in the UK Defence market, Polaris urgently seek highly motivated and experienced Cost and Project Controls Consultants for our Bristol and Fareham offices. We need Consultants with the following profile and skills:



  • Significant experience in Defence analysis in some or all of the following disciplines:

    • Cost analysis/ estimation (knowledge of gathering cost data, estimating, CAAS guidelines, CDALs, V&V, etc.)

    • MOD approvals (knowledge of IGBC, MGBC, JSP507, JSP655 etc.)

    • Portfolio, programme and project management (schedule and risk analysis, benefits realisation, evidence management etc.)

    • Operational Analysis (OA) to support Business Cases and/or MOD policy development (knowledge of spreadsheet modelling, technology road mapping, etc.)



  • Experience working with DE&S, ISS or Dstl preferable.

  • Must be good with people and able to interface directly with customers.

  • Have a positive, flexible and self-motivated attitude necessary for working in a small company.

  • British Nationals with current SC or DV clearance.


Staff will be based in either the Bristol or Fareham offices, but expected to travel to other offices and sites in the UK, when required.
